MT8XXX-S development platform
With Type-S carrier for the storage application
Overview
The Type-S Carrier serves as a generic I/O platform for PowerQUICC II Pro and III family processor cards. It provides standard connectors such as one PCI and one mini-PCI slots, SATA port, mini-USB ports, gigabit Ethernet connector for testing and developing the functionality of different interfaces of MPC83xx and MPC85XX devices. Combined with reusable PowerPC processor card, Type-S carrier can be used for storage application.
Application
NAS systems, developed using the Freescale reference design and Media
Server software, are designed to enable consumers to share and store multimedia
files, such as video, DVD backups, music and photos, throughout the digital
home. Mediabolic software makes it easy to centrally manage and distribute
digital content among multiple PCs and networked entertainment devices.
